Champions MA Faringdon have done it again!
A huge thank you to Mark Currie for hosting another fantastic tournament - what a brilliant day of competition, courage, and growth for our team.
First up was Jonathan, competing in two tough fights in his Light Contact category. He came away with one win and one loss - a solid performance to kick off the day.
Then came Paul, bravely stepping onto the mats for the very first time. No win this time, but a huge learning experience and we know he’ll come back stronger next time.
Sam and Matt were both in a packed and very competitive category.
Sam fought four times, showing incredible grit, determination and skill - with some very close fights along the way! He finished second in this busy category, securing a silver medal.
It wasn’t Matt’s day this time, but the courage to step onto the mats is what matters most and we’re proud of his effort.
Our first Junior fighter, Logan, took to the mats for his points category. No win this time, but he now knows exactly what to work on before the next tournament - great learning experience!
Mason was up next, and he was unstoppable – winning every single one of his match-ups with a brilliant display of spirit, skill and determination, the first gold medal of the day!
Dan was next into action. With a very small category, there was nowhere to hide, but he showed true Champions spirit by giving his all.
Immanuel, returning to represent Champions after moving away recently, stepped into his first category. No win this time, but a huge amount of grit shown.
Ethan was up next in his points category - a great performance! Two fights, two wins and a gold medal! Ethan showed great skill and excellent listening throughout his fights.
After a long wait, Kyle stepped up to represent Champions in advanced Martial Boxing. It’s worth noting that even though this was Kyle’s first fight, he was in an advanced category. Two competitors didn’t show, leaving just one very decorated and experienced opponent. Kyle stayed on the attack the whole time, pushing forward and giving everything he had – no win this time, but an incredible effort.
Immanuel was back up for Light Contact next. Again, a small category and some tough judging, but a big performance from him nonetheless.
Kajus took to the mats next after a long break from training - and what a return! He secured a win in his first fight and then battled a tough opponent, coming away with a well-earned silver medal!
Ethan returned for his second category – full of confidence from his earlier success. He listened to his coaches, followed instructions perfectly and secured another two wins, taking home his second gold medal of the day!
The Champions team left tired but smiling, proud of their efforts and motivated to train harder than ever. It was also brilliant to watch some of the advanced fighters throughout the day - giving our team a glimpse of the standard they can reach with dedication and determination.
👏👏👏 A huge well done to every single one of our fighters - it takes guts just to step on the mats and you all did Champions MA proud.
